Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We offer a free, no obligation introductory lesson. Individual teachers have their own methodology in teaching. We all try to be really flexible and to tailor the lessons to the needs of the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our teachers have a college degree in music and have previous experience teaching.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We offer a free lesson to establish report and determine the students needs. We use this time to outline what our approach will be in relation to a student's goals before they spend any money with us. Then half hour lessons are $79 per month (4 lessons). We also offer discounts on the rate if you want longer lessons
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching 20 years ago as an wxtension of my music career. i immediately realized that I enjoyed helping others develop their musocal potential even more than working on my own skills. Most of our teachers have multiple years of experience teaching their discipline(s).
What types of students have you worked with?
We have worked woth kids as young as 4 and adults as old as 80. Some students are just starting with a general interest, while others have had specific interest in many differing styles of music, including classical, musical theatre, jazz, pop, rock and sacred.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We offer many performing opportunities when students are ready, including recitals, concerts, plays and musicals. These are incredibly enjoyable to be a part of as you can really see the progress of students and see them gain confidence as individuals.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
While price and location are important, I would really recommend that students look for a teacher who they feel they can develop a positive working relationship with. If you are spending money on lessons, you should really make sure you are studying with someone who is knowledgeable and who cares about your progress.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should ask if the teacher has experience working with people with similar goals to themselves.
