Scott Anderson is a two-time Emmy award winner and has been an active musician in Pittsburgh for the past 30 years. He has been teaching piano and music technology out of his Upper St Clair home studio since 2009. Anderson Music Academy offically opened for business in McMurray in 8/2019.
Scott carefully chose staff that are not just amazing teachers but have an active career in their field. Oh, and they're good, fun people as an added bonus!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We have a motto here at AMA "to meet our students where they are". Whether you're a beginner that has never laid a finger on an instrument, a student that is prepping for college auditions, a professional looking for performance skills, and everyone in between, we can help! We will assess experience, quality of any past instruction and determine goals, both short and long term. This requires an assessment/discussion at either an evaluation or at the first lesson. We will work with students (and parents when necessary) to keep the student engaged and excited. Everyone can agree that if the student is excited, they will want to practice, and with practice, they can accomplish anything!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Each teacher was hand picked by Founder/Owner Scott Anderson, based on their exceptional experience and education. All of our teachers have an active career in their field.
