David is a fun person. I have only been at his studio twice to date but I can sense he has a method to teach me guitar. He makes me feel comfortable.

It's important to David that he has rapport with his students and so he puts in the effort to make sure everyone feels comfortable and included. I have taken lessons with David individually and in a group setting. I have also observed him with kids. He is a genuine human being, which makes learning music a rich experience. On the technical side, David has been in the music business for decades and is an icon in the Pittsburgh area. He is by far one of the best guitarists in Western Pennsylvania. His teaching style is loose and easy and on point.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

5000 + performances and past employment with Lincoln Park, Pa Cyber, and Pitt University

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

First and foremost I find out what the student listens to and likes. Guitar has a physical curve in the beginning and it’s easy to get frustrated amd even quit. So I find that when a student learns a song that he or she really likes it makes it a lot easier to get past a little pain and frustration !! Small hurdles and victories keep the guitar played often.
