About

My teaching approach:

Hi, My name is Jordan and I am a local pastor here in Downingtown. I have been playing guitar for more than ten years and have put out an album, toured the north east and opened for some major worship artists like Brenton Brown, Jonathan Lee, and Paul Baloche just to name a few. I know finding a good guitar teacher can be hard. You want to learn what... well... YOU want to learn. I have released an album, taken classes in Pro Tools, and have played all types of music. Whatever you want to learn, as long as your put in the effort with me, there isn't anything we cant accomplish.

My influences are:

Oh man..... There are so many. John Mayer, James Duke, SRV, Hendrix, Nigel Hendroff and the rest of Hillsong, Relient K, Underoath, The Fray, Jarle Bernhoft, Angels and Airwaves, All The Bright Lights, Hammock, This Will Destroy You, Chuck Berry, Ascend The Hill, The Black Keys, Brand New, Coldplay, Michael Gungor, John Mark McMillan, The Killers, Maroon 5, Mewithoutyou, and MJ just to name a few

My guitar lessons take place in:

The teacher's studio or the student's home

Guitar Lessons with me take place in the following areas:

I will be teaching in Downingtown, PA and surrounding areas.

Guitar Techniques:

Guidance In Equipment Selection, Recording and Production, Scales and Exercises, Jamming Skills, Slide Guitar, Vocal Accompaniment, Improvisation, Performance, Fingerstyle, Rhythm guitar, Lead guitar

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:

We will find out what knowledge you already posses with chords and scales and rhythm techniques and figure out what needs more work and go from there.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

For beginners, we will start with the basics. Learning chords, notes on the fretboard and learn how to play along with other live musicians. Intermediate would start scales, more strum patterns and start learning by ear where the song is going. For advanced players, we would do more scales, and really go in depth with gear and techniques for soloing to make sure you are always fitting the song and telling the best story you can with those strings

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:

Anyone willing and wanting to learn. I can show you everything I know that I have learned over the past decade but you have to also put in the effort to make yourself better.
