When you take lessons from me, you not only learn how to play your instrument and how to read music, but also instruction in music theory and music history.
I only take a limited number of students that way I do not have to schedule lessons back-to-back. This allows for me to spend extra time with a student if they need it.

Music lessons for ADULTS for the fun of it! Beginning lessons for piano, guitar, ukulele, banjo. We’re not talking performing at Carnegie Hall, but those who have always wanted to pick up a guitar and strum a couple of tunes or play a few riffs. We’re here for those who want to sit down at a piano and play a simple old standard. Playful Cat Music was created to teach adults to play music for the fun of it. Located in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh, we offer beginning lessons on piano, guitar, and ukulele, at a reasonable price.

I have earned an eight course 24-credit Advanced Professional Certificate in General Music from Berklee College of Music Online. Also I have earned four non-credit - four course specializations from Berklee: Developing Your Musicianship, Music Business, How To Play Guitar, and Music Education for Teachers.
Love to see people learning something new and enjoying music. I like helping them live their dream of always wanting to learn to make music.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Talking to them. Asking how much experience they have, if they are a beginner, etc. Finding out what they want to learn, what style, etc.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Former adjunct professor in the field of communications. Have played piano since I was five, guitar since I was 13 and ukulele for over ten years. I have earned the 24 credit/eight course Advanced Professional Certificate in General Music, from Berklee College of Music Online. Have also earned non-credit - four course specializations from Berklee College of Music, on Coursera, in Developing Your Musicianship, Music Business, How To Play Guitar, and Music Education for Teachers. Also have verified non-credit certificates in Music Wellness from Berklee and five non-credit music courses from Julliard X.
