About

It is my goal as a music educator to inspire and find people’s lifelong love of music through the teachings of piano. I've been playing piano for 16 years and currently a music teacher in the public school system. I've taught private lessons, group lessons, and music ensembles in the urban, surburban, and rural enviroment. These piano lessons are designed to develop each student’s music ability through the teaching of piano, aural skills, music theory, and performing through there individual needs. Lessons are once a week for 30 or 60 minutes, depending on the ability of the student. Depending or the ability of the students, the students will be able to play music of different time periods including, baroque, classical, romantic contemporary, and jazz. In addition to, the students are recommended to suggest any piece or piano style they are interested in learning.

I love to see when the students are happy making music, especially when they acheive a musical goal. I will always enjoy what I do, but it's more enjoyable when the students are enjoying themselves.

    Frequently asked questions

One of the first things I do is to establish a good relationship with the students. I want the students to feel comfortable in our lessons and that it is okay to make mistakes. After getting to know my students, I'll begin teaching the fundamentals of piano such as posture, finger position, and learning the first note.

I have my Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Slippery Rock University and are currently a music educator in the public school system. I taught in a variety of schools and summer programs, as well as atteneded different pedagogy classes to strengthen my teaching.

    $30 per lesson

Lessons are usually 30 minutes to 1 hour dependent on the student's needs.

In college, I wanted more experience teaching. So a friend recommended that I teach private piano lessons. Once I taught my first lessons, I knew this was something I could do the rest of my life.
