Learning Allegro
About
Learning Allegro is different from other music studios because all of our teachers are professional musicians, activily performing in the community. From Philly gigs to small chamber performances, our teachers have brought music to just about every venue in Chester County, PA. Our performances keep us up to date on the latest in music trends that we can then share with our students. We are passionate about what we do and that passion transfers to our students during lessons!
Our instructors love making music. We love the theory behind the notes and the artisty of playing. Seeing a student have that A HA moment about a theory lesson or finally master the "hard part" of a piece is thrilling. Our instructors don't just "teach" lessons. We make music with our students!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Every lesson is tailored to that students learning style. Our instructors evaluate every student's strengths and areas of improvement. Our focus is on developing a love of music while developing a strong foundation of theory and technique.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our instructors are professional musicians actively performing in the community. We can bring the thrill of the performance into every lesson and encourage students to perform at our many recitals. Many of our teachers also hold music and edcuation degrees.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Our lesson pricing is based on a monthly tuition. That means that students are always given 4 lessons per month. Months that have a 5th week are considered a bonus lesson and are free of charge.
How did you get started teaching?
The teachers at Learning Allegro are passionate about music. It is what we love most and any chance to make music, is a joy for us. An opportunity to introduce a new student to the world of music and the joy it brings, is a bonus!!
What types of students have you worked with?
At Learning Allegro, we believe that everyone has musical ability. There are no students to young or too old. We also have a wide range of differently-abeled students and our teachers are trained to encourage the best from all of our students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Our recitals are the best!! We recently had our Christmas recital and had over 30 of our students perform. (A small recital by our standards!). Some of the performers included, violin, cello, saxaphone, clarinet, trumpet, drums, guitar and even our Rock Band performed. Recitals are never mandatory at Learning Allegro but we do encourage all of our students to show off their hard work!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Students should look for a teacher who loves music! Many teachers have good technique, but technique is not all that makes beautiful music. Teachers who are passionate about their instrument are more likely to make lessons fun and engaging for the student. All of the teachers at Learning Allegro love performing and teaching.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
It is helpful for us to know what instrument interests you. We can certianly help guide new students to a good teacher fit and even music genre but knowing which instrument a student is drawn to makes for a better lesson experience.
