I appreciated Mr. Johnsons eagerness to teach. He had amazing lessons that were so easy to learn. He was very attentive in listening to every concern we had. He was very patient with my sons even though they did not know how to play the piano. Thank You!!!

Earl is extremely professional and has a wealth of knowledge of musicianship, musicality, and craftsmanship. He really has a commendable skill of breaking down high level concepts and taking the scary out of learning a new instrument. I truly appreciate his time and efforts in being an outstanding teacher.

Mr. Johnson does an amazing job with my daughter. She stated she wanted to learn how to play Song about Elmo (a made up song by Adam Sandler) and I told her he probably wont be able to do that one...Sure enough after five lessons she playing her favorite Elmo song on the piano. Great for them but, hard for me because she plays it all evening long to anyone who will listen. 10/10 RECCOMEND!!!

My daughter loves taking piano lessons with Mr. Johnson because shes learning so much! The lessons are fun, relatable, and very useful! On top of that, shes a lot more patient since shes started taking lessons. I love working with Crescendo Music Studio because they really have a passion for music and treat each other like family! Highly Recommend!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typcally, we first gauge their desire to learn and what they want to learn because in order for progress to be made, both parties must be equally invested into the outcome. We start at the base level of whatever genre the student wishes to learn and work on fundamental skills that build a strong foundation.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have a combined studio experience of over 20years of teaching. We have board certified instructors from the Tennessee Music Teachers Association. We have instructors who have graduated from music colleges from all over the mid- south area.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
[30 Mins= $50 per lesson -or- $180 per month]
[1 hour lesson = $75 per lesson -or- $250 per month]
How did you get started teaching?
I began my teaching career in 2014 as a college student who'd been playing for 7 years, both competitively and commercially. After finishing my degree at the University of Chattanooga, I opened my own studio in 2020 to teach piano full time.
What types of students have you worked with?
Our studio has worked with students starting as young as 6 years old going up until 50. All ages are welcomed.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My students just completed their Spring Recital and I couldn't be more proud of their determination and joy that they displayed in their preparation of it.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Always gauge the teachers love for teaching and passion for music. Ask yourself a few questions. Are they understandable and flexible to work with your specific needs and goals? Do they take great consideration to your situation. Can you trust them?
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What goals do you have for wanting to learn a new instrument? Are you motivated to practice and progress? Does music bring you joy?
