Over the span of my career I have had the opportunity to work with and learn from some very talented,successful and knowledgeable people in the music industry.I feel it's only right to pass some of my experience on to my students.I love writing,playing and producing music and do my best to spark that passion in students.Each student is an individual.Let's find out where you are,where you want to be and how to get you there.
I have over 40 years of experience in the music industry in both Canada and the U.S..I do projects with Artists from around the world.I've been in the U.S. for 7 1/2 years on a special Visa as an alien of extraordinary ability in music.I've written,performed and produced most every style of music and specialize in Pop in multiple genres.
I have a Specialized Honors Degree in music from York University.I have been the recipient of several song writing awards.I write with and produce for number 1 hit songwriters.I do projects for artists,pro writers and publishers.I've worked on soundtracks and had placements on T.V.I've had numerous single song publishing contracts.I currently have a full global distribution/publishing contract with Sugo Music ( parent company Sony ) and another publishing deal with Rocket Songs.I've done a 10 video tutorial series on pop writing and production entitled Pop Music-5 Tips at a Time.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to find out the student's goals and evaluate where they are now so we can create a lesson path to attain those goals.

I have a degree in Music and a lifetime of experience as a professional musician.

I oversaw a vocal recording session on Skype with an artist in Montenegro.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone knowledgeable who you get along with.If you already have some skill and know what you want to hone,find a teacher who is a master at that. ( ie jazz or metal )
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Know what you're trying to achieve so you can find the right person to help get you there.
