Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Generally worked out based on contact and conversation over the desired lesson plan. Any variation of that would be based very closely to as follows.
*
30 min once a week: 20.00$
45 min once a week: 27.50$
60 min once a week: 35.00$
*The following are priced as they are to show the individual lesson cost, but unless mitigated by circumstance (we will discuss if so) you generally will pay for month in advance.
4x30 min: 80$
4x45 min: 110$
4x60 min: 140$
It is this way to prevent dishonest students or their parent from just coming to one, then no-showing next week. I have had these in the past, so I hope offense is not taken, please inform me if it is.
DISCLAIMER:
As stated before the way we conduct our lesons is flexible, and we can discuss the time management differently together if it necessary. The price, unless mitigated by circumstance relayed to me, will be the figures stated here.
IF FOR ANY INDICATED REASON, you are unhappy or dissatisfied with the results, or feel you aren't getting the value you paid for, I will refund the remaining month of paid lessons PLUS your student will recieve a compensatory lesson on learning to learn better, teaching one to teach themselves. Always be learning, practicing, training, practicing finesse phrases and motives. A very special and quasi-sacred thing I will always have, to the best of my able capacity,in having shown the baby's steps for smoothing out efficiency and worked them through something there to teach specific technique, and get them to learn intentional practice.
How did you get started teaching?
At my local music store
What types of students have you worked with?
All kinds, loud , shy, ages 5-50, even students with terminal cancer.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Getting to teach a upbeat and truly insightful young boy of 14 with terminal cancer. He had one of the greatest attitutes and outlooks I have ever witnessed. He passed at 18, and I feel he taught me a FAR more valuable skill.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Ask if you can have a short 15 min or review lesson. It will allow you to see of my teaching is best for you, and if it is, it will allow me to get to know and start to build a lesson plan and areas in which I would start to improve.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What goals do I want short and long term?
Do I want to learn how to read music?
In what areas or what techniques do I want to improve in?
What songs do I want to learn?
