I have taken violin and mandolin lessons from Roy for 3 yrs. He has extensive knowledge of and ability to play a wide range of genres and instruments. He is a professional musician, so he teaches from experience, not just theory. Roy relates well to all ages and experience levels, and I highly recommend him to adults.

    Frequently asked questions

I have been involved with many aspects of music performance and education for 20 years.

I charge $35 for 30 minute lessons and $50 for an hour.

Learning and teaching music has always been part of my life.  I started teaching more formally in 1990.

    Shows

I played violin in the following shows at the Orpheum Theatre (Memphis) from 1984 - 2006. Usually, we would do a 5 hour rehearsal in the lobby, an hour sound check in the pit, then a show that same night! Then 7 more shows that week...it paid around $1200 before deductions. This was a highly demanding professional job.

    Victor–Victoria (Tennille?)
    Beauty & the Beast - 2x
Titanic (really, really, bad show but traveling concert master Eva Rosenberg was great)
