About this pro

My name is Mallory and I moved to Nashville from Los Angeles 3 years ago. I had a roster there of 55 private students of all ages and levels. I am immediately available and I have extensive experience instructing at summer camps, musical theatre, contemporary vocals, songwriting workshops etc. For Private Lessons, I teach a combination of a classical and contemporary approach in all mediums: Piano, Voice, Guitar, Songwriting, Acting, Musical Theater, Audition Prep, Shakespeare etc. Teaching is a passion and a joy so if you're looking for a teacher who cares and will tailor each lesson to the individual student, look no further!

I really love helping people de-mystify the process of learning an instrument, singing, or acting. It's truly my passion to help people learn how to unlock all of that for themselves!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I usually like to meet the student, spend a few minutes getting to know them and the things that make them 'tick' their favorite artists, music, actors, movies etc. I want to know what they gravitate towards so that I can tailor the lessons to their needs. After the initial lesson we dive in deep to learning the skills necessary to enhance their potential. I like to offer a foundation in classic technique but I want the student to work on material they LIKE so they stay motivated and want to practice/rehearse.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

12+ years of classical piano training
8+ years of vocal training
5+ years experience in front of camera and on set
15+ years of experience onstage in musicals
15+ years as a professional singer/songwriter

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

My typical rates are as follows for all mediums of study:

Traveling lessons:

$45 30 mins
$55 45 mins
$65 60 mins

In Studio Lessons or Online Lessons:

$40 30 mins
$50 45 mins
$60 60 mins

How did you get started teaching?

I really honestly started in hight school helping my fellow students prep for auditions, recitals, talent shows etc. But professionally I began teaching in college and shortly after doing private lessons, group lessons, summer camps, local theatre productions etc.

What types of students have you worked with?

All ages and all levels!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Find someone you click with who understands how you learn and what you're looking to accomplish. Someone supportive who also challenges you!
