What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I determine his/her goals and what he/she wishes to accomplish. I learn what he.she aleady knows in songwriting and begin teaching from what he or she knows.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over 20 years writing and co-writing with songwriters and artists in Nashville, New York, Los Angeles and London. I have had over 150 of my original songs recorded by major and independent recording artists. I have had a gold and platinum record, single songs charting into the top ten worldwide, a number one album, Dove and Grammy nominations and honored with "Songwriter of the Year" twice. Graduate work at Eastman School of Music and The University of Illinois in music composition and music education.
