Piano and music is a joyous way of life and lifelong hobby! I can introduce a student to keyboard essentials and note reading theory. I have a minor in music- and many years of teaching in classrooms, private - all ages, along with many years of choirs and barbershop music. I require committed practice time daily to acquire this skill for enjoyment. It’s a pleasure to learn with me and for you.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I want to align with their vision of what they want to learn from our weekly musical partnership and how they will look and posture at the piano. I emphasize hand and finger positioning and excercises. I want a positive and long lasting experience for them. Then we move into 5 finger position, notes and tunes with each hand. I make a practice chart for them in their notebook I furnish. From 5 finger work from middle C we move to c major scale and then into the piano book I furnish. This is a strong beginning.
