Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to have them come in and try two free lessons. At the lesson I like to find out more about them. Why did they decide to try lessons. What type of hobbies do they like to do. Let them know more about me and my teaching styles. Then I like to show them about the instrument they are wanting to learn about. Hopefully by the end of the lesson, they will be able to play or sing their first song.

I have a little gir, that her mom signed her up for piano lessons last year. She was very shy and just did not want to take piano lessons. This year she has come out of her shell and she loves coming to music. She was so excited to be in the last recital and she did great.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Before you commit to lessons with a teacher, I would try a lesson with them, to make sure that you enjoy lessons with your teacher. It is important that your personalities work well together.
