About
My teaching approach:
As a teacher, I listen to the goals and acheivement that a student wishes to acheive, then I use personalized tools and study program to ensure a path to that realization. A Singer/Songwriter will have a different objective, than would a Jazz student. So, I use both printed materials and my experience to guide the student. I learned guitar from my father, and we played Gospel music in church and Country music at home, later I fell in love with Blues/Rock and Jazz, and have performed, recorded, and taught for the past 30 years. I know both learning by ear and have studyed Music Theory.
My influences are:
While I have played most all styles, I am a lover of Blues/Rock. Such as Jimmy Page, Robin Trower, Sean Costello, Tommy Bolin, Billy Gibbons, Gary Moore, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, etc. But also love: Bill Monroe, Tommy Emanuell, Jim Croce, James Taylor, Jerry Reed, Chet Atkins, Tony Rice, John Scholfied, BB King, George Benson, Ritchie Kotzen, Pat Matheny, etc.
