What is your typical process for working with a new student?

We first find out the goals each student has, as well as their level of playing ability. We then match them up with an instructor who fits their style or genre. Our instructors are extremely flexible in structuring lessons. Some of our students prefer weekly lessons, some every other week in order to digest and practice what they have learned. We accommodate any preference where this is concerned, and we are open 6 days a week.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

All members of our staff are professional teachers, musicians and luthiers who have been making their living in the music industry for decades. Every one of us has recorded material as well as performed live.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Lessons are charged monthly. We charge $125.00 per month which covers four (4) half hour (30 minute) lessons, or two (2) one hour (60 minute) lessons. Students wishing to have one hour (60 minute) lessons every week have a discounted rate of $230 per month.

What types of students have you worked with?

We work with all types of students. We have students of all ages, and instructors of all ages as well. We have students with no experience who literally are starting out by naming the strings and learning to tune their bass or guitar, all the way up to top shelf players who are looking to add to their chord knowledge, phrasing or theory.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

More than anything I tell students to be as descriptive as possible about what their expectations are as well as the style of music they want to learn. The more you let us know what you want, the better we can serve you!
