Punches N Bunches Boxing And Fitness Studio
About
When I coach you regardless if you want to compete or just do fitness/ recreational boxing I will train you just the same with a few minor tweaks. I have the ability to connect with my athletes on all pillars to help them become successful.
Training and coaching is something that I don’t consider work. I truly enjoy helping my athletes achieve their health and fitness goals. I love to my athletes truly get the art of boxing and embrace it because instantly I see confidence and motivation that they may not have had at first.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When training a new student I first like to see if the student has any prior experience in boxing. If the student is new to the sport I will focus more on the footwork the first few lessons along with introducing the foundational punches. If the student is a the intermediate or advanced level we will revisit the footwork and I will start to adding fundamentals along with some advanced mitt work. Closer to the end of the lesson will do strength, conditioning, and core work followed by me stretching the student so there won't be cramps the next day.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an Masters in Human Physiology. I competed as an amatuer and won numerous golden gloves, regional and national titles. I've been a USA Boxing coach since 2010.

How did you get started teaching?
I've been told that I was a natural born coach. During my career as a boxer I was always helping younger boxers and individuals who just wanted to learn the sport. After my career as a boxer I realized that I wanted to continue to give back to the sport of boxing so I traveled to different gyms in the US and learned different things from many great coaches. In Nashville I was assistant coach with the womens US olympic boxing coach Christy Halbert and I learned alot in that role.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with amatuer and professional boxers. I've also worked with that individual who has no aspiration of getting in the ring, but just wants to experience the training of a boxer. I've worked with kids that were being bullied before learning how to box. I teach boxing classes in any environment wheteher its 1 person or 100 people. I teach boxing classes at Vanderbilt University and at churches in Nashville.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If you want a great quality coach don't just go off of who has the cheapest price because ideally the cheaper the price the less of demand that coach may be in. Look for a coach who you can connect with in the students role, but also a coach that will listen to you and knows how the body works when it comes to nutrition, body mechanics, etc.
Also don't feel like you already have to be in shape to do boxing training. A true coach with the proper expertise can help you get in shape.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Make sure that you are serious before contacting a boxing coach. Boxing is at a high demand in the Nashville area so be sure that you are prepared mentally, physically, and financially before you decide to contact a coach.
