I have over 40 years experience in training and teaching martial arts, self defense, and firearm safety. I am a certified law enforcement instructor as well as a certified personal protection specialist/instructor and a court certified subject matter expert in self defense. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I find out what are the students goals and then I asses their current knowledge or experience. Once that's established I carefully guide them toward their goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold black belts or varying degrees and instructor certifications in Wing Chun, Muay Thai, Combat GoJu, Combat Jujitsu, and I'm the Soke/Founder of the Art Of Combat.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My private (One on One) lessons are $50 per session (1 hour). Couple's private sessions are $75 per session (1 hour). Small group and Family sessions are available please call for rates and availability.
How did you get started teaching?
I started taking lessons at 6 years old. When I turned 12 I was assigned to teach other kids and as I got older I was teaching older students.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught children as young as 5 years old. I have taught adults as old as 85 years old. I have taught people in their country that don't speak english. I've learned teaching techniques that transcends language and culture.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was invited to teach a Self Defense and Area Awareness Seminar to combat the Human Trafficking epidemic.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If you want the best instructor with real life experience in survival and teaching survival then you don't have to look any further.
