About

I am tremendously patient and help make sure expectations are clear to every student. I am also a good communicator, both in lessons and out.

I enjoy catering each lesson to the individual student, creatively determining how to help them clearly understand how to make music. Each lesson is a puzzle with the end result of sharing my passion for music!

Marla is so good with our daughter. She is funny enough to be cool but stern enough to call her out when she needs it. She knows what she is capable of doing and is able to break down things in ways that make sense for her. There are standard technique books they use for practice but she has also been working on popular songs that my daughter was able to choose. Being able to relate the lessons and information to current music you can hear on the radio has really brought my daughters skills and confidence to another level. We have been attending lessons for a little over a year now and I am just so impressed.

She is very encouraging and firm in teaching. My daughter is sensitive and not likely to be open to a new instructor, but she instantly liked her. Thanks for your good work!

She is excellent with my daughter! Keeps her interested and focused for a 45 mins lesson which is not so easy for a five year old. Also very organized and professional.

Frequently asked questions

I aim to target each lesson to the student's individual goals and interests, whether it's learning a particular song or style, music theory, composition, transcription, etc. Additionally, I make sure every student learns strong music fundamentals and how to play with a healthy and relaxed technique

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance and a Master's Degree in Collaborative Piano. I have been teaching in Texas since graduating in 2014

I charge per lesson, the rates are:

$25 per 30 minute lesson

$35 per 45 minute lesson

$45 per 60 minute lesson

I started teaching when I began to help out my own piano teacher when her studio filled up.

I have worked with all ages and abilities from 5 to 75 years old, beginner to advanced.

Make sure to find a teacher who understands and will help you achieve your goals. Additionally, the ability to communicate with and understand your teacher is incredibly important.

Be sure to consider how much time you have to devote to the instrument. Mastering the piano takes time and you will progress much more quickly if you devote time to it every day.

Additionally, make sure you have the right equipment for at-home practice, I'm more than happy to help students pick out a piano or keyboard!
