About
I am a violin/fiddle player of 20 years, with over 5 years of teaching experience. I have studied the Suzuki Violin Method and the O'Connor fiddle method and have been registered as a Suzuki Violin Teacher. I have graduated from Texas State University in International Relations and Music, where I taught violin in the String Project program for 2 years. I teach students of all ages and currently have a growing studio in South Austin.
What I enjoy most about teaching music is watching my students grow in not only their ability, but in their enjoyment of their instrument. Something truly magical happens when a student develops confidence in their playing and to be a part of that creation brings me so much joy.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I give all my new students a free 30 minute trial lesson, I do this because it is most important for the student, and the student's family that the teacher be a good fit for them. The inital lesson is typically filled with bow technique and maybe a little work with the violin, all skills on the violin are building blocks. At the end of each lesson I provide a practice sheet detailing what the student should work on throught the week.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been trained to teach the Suzuki Violin Method in books 1, 2, 3, and Every Child Can (for children 4 and younger). I have also had extensive training in my college career as a violin teacher in Texas State University's String Project Program.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
All lessons are priced as follows:
30 minutes = $22
45 minutes = $33
60 minutes = $44
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students aged 3 to age 50 (and I would be delighted to teach students older than that too!)
For my adult students, I hold a once montly "music and dessert" were they can play music together!
