About
I am originally from the UK and spent my entire career performing as a member of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra as well as the London Symphony, London Philharmonic and Philharmonia orchestras.
It is a great delight for me to share my knowledge and experience and to pass on my skills to students of all ages from beginner to advanced.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My first priority with students of any age is to ensure they have fun! :) For complete beginners I would introduce them to the violin itself and encourage them to learn the names of all parts of the violin such as scroll, pegs, fingerboard etc. The next step in the process would be learning how to hold the violin and bow in a relaxed manner so as not to introduce any stress or tension in the muscles.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I trained at one of the foremost institutes in the world, The Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard pricing is $66 per hour or pro rated.
How did you get started teaching?
After many decades of performing around the world I felt it was now the time to share my knowledge and skills.
What types of students have you worked with?
In the past I have worked with students of all ages from young children to adults.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise any student (or parent) to hire a teacher who can adequately communicate in a clear, concise and fun manner appropriate for the age of the student.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I believe that students should think about their eventual goals as well as methods and style of playing. For example, do they specifically want Suzuki? Do they want to learn country fiddle? Talking to the teacher will help determine if they are a right fit for the student.
