    Frequently asked questions

I grew up in Dallas, TX and started the violin at the age of four. I started training seriously at the age of 11 under the tutelage of Dallas Symphony associate concertmaster, Jan Mark Sloman. I went on to receive my bachelor's degree at New England Conservatory and master's degree at Indiana University studying with Paul Biss and Grigory Kalinovsky. This past spring, I earned my doctoral degree at the University of Texas at Austin under the guidance of Sandy Yamamoto. I've attended various festivals such as Meadowmount School of Music (where I was the TA for one summer in 2012), Music Academy of the West, Tanglewood Music Festival, and Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo, Japan. I am currently on facutly at the Regents School and started working with the Austin Symphony Orchestra as assistant principal second violin in the fall of 2022.

I have over ten years of teaching experience and I've taught students of all ages from beginners to advanced players, as well as students preparing for Texas All-State Orchestra. I also have experience in teaching adult beginners.
