Dr. Hailey Walterman is an educator, performer, and session player based in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Walterman holds degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, where she served as the viola Teaching Assistant, and Azusa Pacific University in Los Angeles California.
Dr. Walterman is a freelance violist and violinist in the Los Angeles area, as well as a session violist, and an LA Phil teaching assistant with Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA). Additionally, Hailey has her own in-person and virtual private studio, consisting of students in Los Angeles, Texas, Florida, Washington D.C., Kentucky, and Iowa.
As a touring musician, Dr. Walterman has performed with 2Cellos, Father John Misty at Austin City Limits, Il Divo, Michael Bublé, and Leah James. Classically, she has participated in various masterclasses with the Takaćs, Tokyo, and Miró Quartets, along with accomplished violinists Vijay Gupta and Ingrid Chun of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. As a chamber musician, she has shared the stage with the acclaimed violinist Midori Goto, the Jerusalem Quartet, and Sibbi Bernhardssohn of the Pacifica Quartet. Her festival appearances include Montecito International Music Festival, the Next Festival of Emerging Young Artists, and Masterworks Festival in Zhengzhou, China. In addition to performing, she has an immense passion for teaching violin and viola; her experience ranges from young beginners to the collegiate level.
