About
I'm a Brazilian JiuJitsu Black Belt under the legendary Eddie Bravo.
I've worked with 1000's of students ranging from those who have fought professionally in the UFC to normal people and families. While I do continue to work with pro athletes, working with beginner level individuals toward goals of self-defense, fitness and over all self-improvement is my biggest passion.
I love helping people reach goals they thought they couldn't in martial arts and with their health!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We do a one on one intro to see if your a good fit! If you are we can discuss what sort of schedule or plan is best!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a Brazilian JiuJitsu Black Belt under the legendary Eddie Bravo. I have 15 years experience teaching and have competed in over 100 matches in the sport. For kickboxing I typically refer students to one if the other experts with 10+ years of experience here though I also have roughly that amount of training in kickboxing as well.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
This depends on if the student wants private (one on one) lessons, small group privates or classes and at which frequency.
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching at the university club at Lamar University. When the university got rid of the room we trained due to the state of Texas no longer requiring fitness classes (PE credits) to graduate, I founded 10th Planet JiuJitsu Beaumont
What types of students have you worked with?
I typically work with a normal student looking to increase their fitness and self defense ability's while learning something new but I've also worked with serious competitors, having gotten an MMA fighter locally in the UFC before and having been called to travel to help with competition camps of professionals.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Any students just first day of class! The beginning of a journey is a beautiful thing!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Meet for an intro one on one to see if you click, even if you plan on mainly doing group training later. Because a quality teacher is so important for safety, I'd also only train with someone with ALLOT of experience. For Brazilian JiuJitsu I'd recommend a black belt if one around, for kickboxing, someone who does it 5 times a week for 5+ years at least.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Really, whether or not your actually going to commit is the only thing you need to know before you try it out. Everything else you can work out together with your coach!
