Graduate of Moscow Conservatory and University of Texas at Austin, I offer American and Russian methods of piano pedagogy to students of all ages who can read music, starting at age 5 to adults. I constantly and tirelessly work on true musicianship through developing unsurpassed technical skills in my students. This allows them to successfully embark on pieces with any technical and musical challenges.I motivate my students by demonstrating them an efficient and fruitful practicing techniques during lessons, so they know how to practice on their own.I focus students' attention on creating beautiful sound, tone, perfect rhythm and timing from the very beginning. This way they know how a piece of music ought to sound, and start working on achieving flawless performance from the very beginning of the learning process. It makes learning and music-making process an enjoyable, pleasant, effortless, and relaxing experience. In addition to this, my advantageous and unique approach rests on me being a performing artist with extensive repertoire. Therefore I am able to demonstrate to my students any piece from the wide- ranged repertoire. My students have won various national and international competitions, including the top prize at the 2009 Texas State Performance Contest in Houston, 2007 Buono-Bradshaw International Carnegie Hall Competition, 2008 and 2006 Austin Young Concert Artists Competition, 2013, 2006 and 2007 Austin Civic Orchestra Concerto Competition and 2013, 2008 and 2004 Austin Symphony Concerto Competition. Outstanding music lessons! Excellent and loving teaching method that has helped my 7 years old boy make tremendous progress. The lessons incorporate musicianship, theory, creativity and skill. Highly recommended this teacher to all kids especially those who are serious in becoming good pianists!

My son is a double music major in college & has taken lessons from Dr. Kafarova for 2+ years. She prepared him for both piano & theory classes - he placed out of both 1st year theory & all of his piano requirements. She has beginning students to students who have won local, state & national competitions. She works with high school students who sing, compose & play piano - they are all intertwined & most music majors, music therapy majors, music education majors must take piano in college. Whatever the reason you or child have for taking piano, Dr. Kafarova will help you achieve those goals in a positive & encouraging way. She is very competent & extemely skilled - I would recommend her to anyone who is serious about learning piano or incorporating piano into their musical goals.

My son has autism and has been talking lesson from Dr. Kafarova for over a year. As a Mom of special needs children, I salute Dr.Kafarova for her endless patient, caring and love toward my son. She knows how to teach and give her utmost, high quality and superior skills to help him to do his best in piano. We can’t thank her enough for what she’s done and we are very confident that our son will keep growing to be the best pianist he can be with her help. She is the best piano teacher ever in town!!
