Starting flute studies at the age of 10, whetted my appetite for the rest of my life. I love teaching and watching eyes light up at progress. I have taught ages 3-90, including a retired Air Force Colonel. After 20 years in public schools I was privileged to retire and teach privately. I presently play in 3 semi-pro groups. I have taught all levels of music performance with wonderful rewards listening to my student's performances. I am presently a member of Houston Flute Choir, Woodlands Concert Band(The Woodlands, TX and Christ Church United Methodist Wind Ensembles, The Woodlands TX, NFMC, festival chairman for Tejas Jr Music Club. member Conroe Music Teacher Assn, with piano entries for piano Sonatina tournament, theory testing, and piano ensemble. As well as costume director for the state convention performing piano ensemble I also have numerous past affiliations with TMIEA, TBDA, TCDA, ATSSB, and many more. I teach with much energy and love for the craft. I hope it is contagious. I graduated BME in 1976 from Texas A&M Commerce. with 27 hours of masters work there ending in an elementary education certification. Contact me if you want to join the musical journey on the instrument of your choice.
I love working with students, parents, and colleges to see musicians fulfilling their dreams of music performance. Seeing the smiles on the faces of kids accomplishing great goals is a huge reward in itself.
Many join me as friends on Facebook. I am on Linkedin as well.

Having Mrs. May as a piano teacher was nothing less than an enriching and incredible experience. She made learning piano a treat, because of the way she taught and how passionate she was about the instrument. I have learned so much from Mrs. May. She has so much patience and consideration for her students. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a teacher to not only teach, but to inspire.

Look for someone established and in it for the long haul. Be ready to teach the music skills to play an instrument. This takes years to develope and should be enjoyed as milestones are accomplished. Find a teacher that will accompany you on your journey.
Why music, why the instrument they choose, why practice, can they set up a regular routine/time to practice, what are their goals, do they need help setting goals?
And do I have a piano or quality instrument equal to my anticipated sacrifice and hard work?
