What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone established and in it for the long haul. Be ready to teach the music skills to play an instrument. This takes years to develope and should be enjoyed as milestones are accomplished. Find a teacher that will accompany you on your journey. They should be able to have a progression of levels of achievement plan.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Why music, why the instrument they choose, why practice, can they set up a regular routine/time to practice, what are their goals, do they need help setting goals?
And do I have or am I willing to get a piano or quality instrument equal to my anticipated sacrifice and hard work?
