About

"Making music isn't a mystical revelation of an inborn quality, it's a skill people acquire."

In my opinion, every child has a talent, a different time-zone for achievements. I do really enjoy the transfer of this beauty of knowledge; insights, questions, things that we don't know or the limitations of what we know. Also, this pleasant feeling of teaching, working on the piece, even if it takes a lot of time & efforts. I love sharing the music with my students, give myself the opportunity to transfer some knowledge, but also get a lot of things back by asking questions and discussing.

Leaving students good memories & experiences of music lessons is my teaching goal. Students must understand what they learn, they play, and parents deserve to receive the good result on what they invest for.

I am a dedicated piano instructor with a degree in Music Performance. My extensive training includes prestigious masterclasses with renowned educators like Prof. Albert Tiu (Singapore), distinguished faculty from Royal Conservatory of Music (England), Professor Adam Aleksander (Seattle), and Dr. Ani Keropian (California).

With over two decades of teaching experience, I am a certified instructor in the Yamaha music education system, having taught there for 6+ years before establishing my own successful music school in Irvine, California in 2019.

My comprehensive knowledge spans major music curricula including Yamaha, Suzuki, Trinity, MTAC, Rockschool, ABRSM, and RCM. Currently operating from my studio in Pearland/Manvel, Texas since 2022, I offer personalized instruction to students across all skill levels - from beginners to advanced, whether pursuing competitive or recreational goals.

My son started piano lessons with Ms. Huson when he was 10 years old. He had learnt piano previously from another teacher but his playing improved significantly with Ms. Huson. He always looked forward to his lesson with her and he enjoyed playing the piano so much so that he would practice the piano without any effort from my end. Ms. Huson is very passionate and very patient with her students. When Ms. Huson moved out of town my son missed learning the piano with her and were now now doing virtual lessons with her. Excellent teacher and I highly recommend her. Im so glad that we found her.

Ms Lucy (Tovy) is amazing. She’s very professional, knowledgeable, has amazing technique and know how to work with kids. She always give details feedback and suggestions after each lesson. Spot on right away what good and what need to be changed. My 2 sons (7 and 9 years old) love her and I can see they improve a lot. They’ve been studied piano for 2 years here and there but only with Ms. Lucy I can see effectiveness. Highly recommended.
