I have been teaching piano for more than 20 years . I'm from Brazil Rio de Janeiro . I speak English, Portuguese and Spanish and I love kids . I love have fun with the kids that why I use a lot of music games and outside music ativitys with the kids.
I enjoy to whatch all role process those kids on music development . Every 6 months my students have to attend a audition and is amazing for me to see those kids improvement .

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I teach students how to read music . That is not easy for the majority. So, I introduce them the first 3 musical notes at a time,and works different songs using those notes and gradually brings more information . I also teach musical concepts such as rhythm , pitch , notation , phrasing, dynamics. The methods also employ solfege sing (do re mi ) . To help children reach this musical goal we use different types of materials Keyboard, Desk bells , Xylophones, Rattes , Tambourine
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received bachelor's degree in music from baptist seminary of music and Federal University of Rio de Janeiro Brazil , also received a Montessori teacher certification from Colling College in Dallas .
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$80,00 dollars for 1 hr section or $40,00 for 1/2 hr section if the students come to my house . If I have to drive to the Studant home I will be charge a adicional fee .

I started teaching piano at the church in Brazil Rio de Janeiro about 30 years ago .

Every 6 months students gain experience performing in recitals in churchs , nursing homes , schools

Studant or parents need to check the teacher background .

Students should always have a open communication with the teacher. Asking questions or what problem they are having with lessons.
