Yvonne’s Viola Lessons

I am able to offer a unique perspective as a full-time performer, someone who is “making it” professionally in what I teach. I focus on building a strong technical foundation based on the needs of the individual student. I feel strongly that each student has a set of strengths that contribute to his or her unique sound, and in lessons we work on developing this sound to its fullest potential, turning weaknesses into strengths and capitalizing on each student’s natural talents. Daily individual practice reinforces our work at the weekly lesson and builds the student’s confidence in his/her abilities; therefore, it is necessary for steady progress.

One of my favorite things about teaching is watching a student truly grasp concepts for themselves and start to be their own teacher and develop their signature sound.
