Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We are unique in that we offer a classical core curriculum for all instruments. This means, that we ensure that students have a full grasp of all the instrument fundamentals, using the foundation of the finest music in history. Once students have a solid foundation and ability on their instrument of choice, the student has the ability to play all styles, from Bach to Rock. We love beginners, to advanced. One of our piano practice rooms is furnished with 2 grand pianos side by side. This allows the intermediate to advanced student develop quickly when playing with their teacher.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our hand selected faculty are from top schools including Julliard and Eastman, and all teachers have college training or professional equivalent.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We have a standard monthly rate of $140 per month for a weekly 30 minute lesson. Our advanced students have a slightly higher rate to study with artists in residence.
We also offer group piano, violin, voice and guitar for only $80 per month, for a weekly 45 minute ensemble class.
How did you get started teaching?
As a certified Suzuki Piano teacher, with over 20 years of teaching experience, my wait-list got so long, I opened the school to offer more instruments and serve more families.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with students as young as 3 years old, teaching piano basics in group classes.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
We do not have an online registration, as it is important to listen to the goals of the student and customize a program to fit their needs. We work hard to place the right personality of teacher with each student, and this takes a lot of one on one communication during registration.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The student should think about their goals and styles. All of our teachers are passionate and great motivators. They will work with you to meet your goals, and encourag you to dive into this wonderful journey of learning music. Let the music begin! Come by for a tour and see what we are all about!
