    Frequently asked questions

Analyzing where the student is at in their playing, and forming the appropriate plan that will best suit them.

With 15 years of experience in guitar lessons in Lubbock, TX, Mitch Rambo provides incredible instruction to students. Picking up the guitar at 11 years old, music has always been a part of Mitch’s life. After graduating high school, he went on to South Plains College where he graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Commercial Music. This education led him to spend the next 4 years on the road with various bands. Rambo also attended Texas Tech University and studied classical guitar for several years. He graduated cum laude from Wayland Baptist University with a Bachelor’s in music. Mitch is motivated by his love of music and passion to transfer his knowledge and skills to others so their creativity and talent can really shine.

I charge $200 a month for an hour long lesson each week, $140 a month for a 30 minute lesson each week, and $120 a month for a 20 minute lesson each week (suggested for 10 and under). $25 a month per added student is charges for those interested in taking group lessons.

I take off Christmas week, Thanksgiving week, and Spring Break week, and I don't do make up lessons for those weeks, and the price still remains the same for the month.  (I do this because I teach the 5th week of months without extra charge.

Everything else I miss I try to make up, and if we can't find a day we just prorate the next months lessons accordingly by subtracting $40 off of $200/hour long lessons or subtracting $28 off of $140/half hour long lessons, and $24 off of $120/20 minute lessons. If YOU have to miss a lesson, I do not prorate for a student's absence. A make up lesson for a student absence is priced $50 for an hour, $35 for a half hour and $30 for 20 minutes.

Whether it was to close friends or new students, I have always seen the value in learning and growing. My first student was a teacher's son from high school, and I haven't stopped since.

I have worked with students of kinds and all walks of life. Little kids to the elderly. Beginners to professionals wanting to learn more.

Things happen everyday in lessons that I love. To pick out one would be challenging. I'd have to say my favorite moments are when students have that look of 'aha' across their face. When everything come together is very rewarding for me.

The advise I give to students is to talk to your teacher first and find someone you feel comfortable with.

Thinking about goals is always great even if it's just to have fun and enjoy a new hobby.
