I have been a professional musician in the North Dallas area for over 20 years. I graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of North Texas in 1997, and I absolutely love to help students grow their passion and fluency in the language of music. Mike is extremely knowledgeable about music 🎶 and is easy to understand ..... Plus he is just a really nice guy 😂 I’m glad I found someone with his experience to work with me indeed.
Mike is fantastic! He is extremely patient and is very diverse in his teaching methods. Being an older student that is trying to get back into piano, Mike teaches you what you want to learn how to play while honing your basic skills at the same time. I would strongly suggest Mike as a piano instructor to anyone who would like to play. You will not regret it.
A true professional musician, my daughter has been taking alto saxophone lessons from Mike for two years now and she's only a fifth grader. He easily communicates his instructions to the level she understands and plays along with her to reinforce them. As a result, she is now able to perform well at a 7th grade level with practice. Mike Naber has my highest recommendation to anyone wanting to learn not only the sax, but clarinet, flute and piano.
In our first lesson, I like to find out what you already know about the instrument/subject and what you would like to accomplish. From there I work with you to set up a plan for lessons that will be fun and put you on track to meet your goals and grow you as a musician.
I have a bachelor's degree in music education from the University of North Texas with a concentration in saxophone. I have performed in the North Dallas area since 1997 in a variety of groups and venues on saxophone, piano, woodwinds, and voice, as well as keeping a studio of students. In addition to my teaching experience, I have a good deal of experience in performance, recording, songwriting, arranging, and music theory.
My rates vary depending on the venue (I contract for a few studios in the area as well as doing lessons at my home). Contact me for specifics.
All ages, from grade school to adults.
Find a teacher and venue that you like. Music education should be fun! Also find someone who knows what they are doing - experience and skill is important.
