I have taught many long-term students who are now wonderful musicians in high school.
The most exciting part of teaching piano lessons is seeing the smile on students faces when they learn a challenging piece of music.
Our group piano classes are a great way for students to make new friends and have fun learning piano.
I was a college music major and played both piano and organ for several different churches when in high school and college. I have continued to play piano and teach piano for the last 25 years. Music is my passion and playing piano, teaching piano, and singing brings a special joy to my heart. Join my piano class and you will feel the joy and beauty that music will bring to your life.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I ask the student to play a familiar piece of music if they have had lessons. Once I evaluate their technique, music reading ability, and style, I prepare a curriculum that will be challenging and fun.
If the student has not had piano lessons before, I will teach them a simple melody and we will play it together so that they don't feel afraid to have fun! I will then proceed to set up lessons for them that will teach music reading, technique, and style. What will be most important is for the student to have fun with learning music and gaining confidence in themselves at the piano.
