Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I do each lesson according to the students goals and aspirations in music. Every lesson is individualized according to the students level, taste in music and ultimate goals. Within a typical Guitar lesson we will spend time on lead guitar techniques, then some time on rhythm guitar techniques, and end working on a goal song chosen by the student. With a typical Voice lesson we will work on placement, range, harmony, and goal songs. Everything in the lesson are customized to your wants and needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been singing and playing guitar since I was 10 years old, and majored music in college, and I have a strong background in music theory, guitar performance and experience in playing and singing in many styles ranging from rock, to pop, to jazz, to heavy metal, to classical. I have lots of experience with teaching, and I love helping others to grow as musicians.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I offer flexible payment options. You can do pay as you go, which is quickly payments. You can pay bi-weekly, or you can pay monthly. It is whatever is easiest for you and you budget.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught people from all different ages and levels. From beginner to advanced, and from young children to mature adults, absolute beginers to touring musicans and recording artists. I have experience and love working with anyone who wants to learn how to sing or play guitar, or write songs and discover the music in them.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Don't be afraid to try out a free first lesson to see if it's something you like. There is no need to feel obligated to sign up with me if you come in for a free lesson, or if you want to do a free lesson through Skype. I am more than willing to help asses where you are at, and where you would like to go with guitar, and or voice to help you on your journey with music.
