About
I like to offer a deepened practice of Hatha yoga lead in combination with the use of healthy color and object visualizations aimed to promote inner healing. Some classes include deeper, longer holds during asana, pranayama as well as positive affirmations and mantra meditations to help ease the mind and give life to personal growth, contentment and creativity. My passion is healing, myself, others, our future generations and the world we live in. My mother introduced me to yoga at the age of fourteen, she began waking up at 6am every day to sneak downstairs, light an incense and practice for up to an hour. I was intrigued and deeply curious about the practice. I began a Hatha yoga sequence without knowing I was practicing a particular type of yoga at the time or that there were different lineages and paths of y oga to being with. I fell in love with the practice. I became more flexible over time, more confident in myself to do things and accomplish tasks, and the most comfortable in my own skin that I have/had ever been. I also became much more spiritually and emotionally aware of my self the deeper my practice became. At age 24 I attended a 200hr teacher training at the Sivananda Yoga Retreat ashram on Paradise Island, Bahamas. I successfully completed my certification and went on to gain knowledge, understanding and practical teaching skills while volunteering at the ashram for the 7 months that followed my course. It was life changing. Now that I am certified, I am passionate and able to share what I learned about yoga with others. I practice when I can and feel like my true self when I am able to get time on my mat away from the daily grind and pulls of society.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I prefer to consider mine and my students yoga experience as a journey rather than a process
I like to get to know my students needs, what they want/need/ and expect to gain from their yoga practice.
I like to access whether my student has any counter indications to any of the asana postures or sequences that I offer. Such as pre-existing health restrictions or prior injuries before we get started, this is to protect my students from any kind of pain, discomfort or injury.
Once I am more aware of my student needs and health condition I am more able to teach.
