About

Wendy Lippmann is OmTown Yoga's founder and primary teacher. The cozy neighborhood studio opened in 2003. Wendy has practiced meditation and yoga for many decades and is a master teacher. She resources a wealth of information about gross and subtle anatomy in her lessons, with wisdom earned from hands on experience as a massage therapist for a dozen years, in addition to the illuminating experience of living in a body for more than 60. She is expert at teaching to prevent injury and promote resilience and balance. Wendy learned Transcendental Meditation as a teenager and studies in a related lineage today. Wendy's students experience yoga Asana as their unique embodiment of a universal creative eternal presence, gaining insight of an infinite light of Consciousness.

I am a true believer that Yoga is an elixir of freedom; That it encompasses ideas, disciplines, exercises, both sacred and mundane, that can free our bodies, minds, and spirits from suffering; that we can in fact experience in present consciousness the transcendent union of the our self with something eternal, infinite and absolute; but that first we are here to serve. I opened a yoga studio to nurture a friendly, supportive, inquisitive community of thoughtful people interested in healthy practices like Yoga.

Wendy is an excellent teacher, and I treasure my time with her. She listens attentively, readily grasps my concerns and goals , and then draws from her rich well of experience to create helpful yoga practices personalized for my needs. Her flexibility, warmth and great sense of humor add to my courage and comfort , especially as I try new things.

Sometime around 1991 when I'd been studying and practicing regularly and devotedly with my teacher, she asked me to sub for her chule she was away for a weekend.  It wa challenging and exhilirating and I loved it.  Since then I have organized my life around Yoga and began teacning regularly in 1993 in various Seattle locations.

My students' ages have ranged from teenagers to octogenarians, from athletic achievers to people living with the effects of stroke, cancer, Parkinson's, and chronic pain.  My weekly group classes are geared for students wanting a non-competitive, strong and gently-paced class.
