What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Typically I will schedule a consultation which can be via phone, online (Skype, Facetime, etc) or in person. I want to learn about the individual, their goals, any injuries or concerns they have. I also want them to have the opportunity to meet and learn about me. Making the initial connection with a potential client is very important to me. From there we schedule our first session and start creating a program together.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

My certification are as follows:

Personal Trainer: American Councel of Exercise ("ACE")

200-hr Yoga Instructor

Health & Wellness Coach through Institute of Integrative Nutrition

Nutrition Coach through Precision Nutrition

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I provide packages for clients for Training, Yoga and Health & Nutrition Coaching. The package pricing varies depending on the type of program they want. I offer 4-session, 8-session and 12-session packages. My package pricing can be found on my website at:

For clients wanting couple's or group pricing, I can provide a quote as needed.

How did you get started teaching?

I was a corporate Human Resources Director for over 15 years and was burned out. I wasn't fulfilled in my work, I ate poorly, over-exercised and basically felt horrible. I knew there had to be a better way to live. So I spend many years soul searching to find my passion and rebuild my life. I always loved health and fitness so while still in corporate HR I started with getting my Personal Training certification and worked weekends at a gym. About six months later I started my business, left my corporate HR job and the rest is wellness history!

What types of students have you worked with?

I worked with clients that are ready and open to life their best life. If you've tried everything else and keep getting the same results and you want to try something different. No matter if the client is Personal Training, Yoga or Health & Nutrition Coaching my philsophy is about shifting behaviors and getting of our own way to see positive lifelong results. It's not all easy work however being open to change is the first step.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I have a client that is 80 and last year was diagnosed pre-diabetic. I work with him as both his Personal Trainer and Health & Nutrition Coach. He has a Nutritionist that I work closely with to ensure he is staying on track. He needed to not only lower his blood glucose levels dramatically but lose weight. He worked so hard for several months and struggled with shifting lifelong eating habits. With a lot of tough love and support he has lost 25 pounds and lower his blood glucose levels. We are currently working on finding a happy medium for him moving forward with nutrition and fitness.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

You must connect with them. There are so many Personal Trainers, Yoga Instructors and Health Coaches in the Seattle area now which is awesome. If you don't feel comfortable or like you are being heard, they are not the person for you.
