Rachel S. says, "Juliette is an amazing instructor. I’ve taken many of her sound healing and yoga Nidra classes and I’m hooked. Juliette is an attuned instructor. Whether you are taking a private class with Juliette, group sounds healing, yoga Nidra or one of her coastal yoga getaways through awaken and rise retreats, Juliette is a wealth of knowledge and compassion. She is trauma informed and works with a wide range of students to make the healing arts something that feels accessible and approachable for all bodies and minds. Juliette has a great cadence to her teaching style and teaches based on individual bodies and personalities rather than through a set dialogue. Her voice is magnetic and her tone is soft and soothing—perfect things for a healing guide to possess. She takes the time to get to know her students and what their needs, desires, and limitations might be in working together and is very down to earth and approachable. I can not recommend Juliette enough for anyone searching for a yoga practitioner. " Read more

Your Yoga Classes questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.

How much do yoga classes cost?

Single group sessions at yoga studios cost $15 to $20 on average. For private yoga training, you will likely spend between $30 and $70 on each lesson. Yoga classes mostly take place in a group setting, and the price per class depends on the location, yoga teacher’s knowledge and experience, and years of teaching.

How long is a yoga class?

On average, a yoga class is 75 to 90 minutes long. Many instructors say 90 minutes is simply how long it takes to pace through all the sacred yoga asanas, but a new shorter 60 minute class is quickly becoming popular with students.

What to wear to yoga class?

Most women prefer to wear tank tops or a sports bra that's made of a cotton and lycra (spandex) blend when they do yoga. Loose tee shirts and underwire bras are usually a no-no because they have a tendency to get in the way of movement.

For the bottoms, most women prefer to wear tights. These comfortable and stretchable pants will provide you with a full range of movement and allow your instructor to check your alignment. For slower-paced classes, you may be able to pull off wearing long skirts or stretchable harlem pants.

What to bring to yoga class?

Although many necessities are usually provided for you, there are a few things you may still want to bring yourself.

Here's what to bring to yoga class:

  1. Comfortable yoga attire
  2. Water bottle
  3. Hand towel
  4. Yoga mat
  5. Change of clothes
  6. Post-yoga snack

How often should you do yoga?

For those who are already quite active, doing yoga at least once or twice per week is recommended. For experienced practitioners, doing yoga every day is not uncommon. However, if you begin to be sore, consider taking a day or two off. Even if you only do you for one hour a week, you will experience the benefits of the practice.

How long does it take to get good at yoga?

There are many beginner yoga poses and sequences that you can get good at in your first yoga class. On a more spiritual level, it may take a lifetime to find the union between mind, body and spirit. You should expect to practice regularly for about six months before you feel confident that you can perform fundamental poses steadily and with some degree of proper form.

Lauren F.
As Juliette’s client, I have seen her as a caring, enthusiastic, creative, quick-thinking coach who is patient, smart and thoughtful. To become a teacher, a coach or a counselor, one spends a great deal of time doing research to make themselves well-rounded and knowledgeable in order to have the capacity to authentically help their student. Juliette is an incredible example of a well-rounded, knowledgeable coach who has a wealth of solutions to address and redirect the issues her client is experiencing. She is extremely positive but also realistic and understands the ups and downs and stresses of life. Juliette is excellent at providing a “mirror” to what she hears the client is saying and shines a light on things to be grateful and proud of. It’s refreshing to see her ability to spin things into the positive. It’s helpful to see her example and learn how it’s done from watching her. This is the first time in my life that I’ve believed that I deserve to choose what makes me happy instead of letting fear take the lead. Breaking down traumatic barriers can feel like a scary, behemoth of a task, but little by little you realize you are doing it and Juliette is there cheering you along because she knew you could all along! Juliette is open-minded, professional and likes to introduce clients to creative healing methods stimulating new ways of healing and thinking. Juliette has guided me through many firsts - my first ice bath, my first sound healing, my first acupuncture experience, my first cacao ceremony, and my first group outdoor yoga class. I’ve appreciated her approach and sensitivity when needed as well as tough love when appropriate - she knows I sometimes need it. She gets to know her clients and what helps them to improve, learn and grow. Thank you for helping me see how much more I am capable of and that loving myself is the most important lesson of all.
