My teaching approach:

Lesson plans vary from each student and depend on the goal, their skill level, and their taste in music. I will introduce various genres, scales, chords, songs, arpeggios, techniques, etc. I will teach song writing, tab reading, rhythm, soloing, and if preferred, a bit of note reading. I try to keep each lesson fun and exciting to hold the student's interest. I make sure to establish a good, close relationship with each student and their family. My students mean the world to me.

Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:

Monday: 3pm to 8pm ( NW Bakersfield/Shafter), Tuesday: 3:15pm to 8pm (Taft), Wednesday: 3:30pm to 8pm (SW/East Bakersfield)

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:

I get to know the student, their taste in music and playing ability, if any. I will assess the best way for the student to learn and what will keep them interested. The first lesson will include the teaching of basics, getting to know your guitar, how to play and tab reading.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

A typical lesson starts out with a review of what was taught the prior week. If the student has mastered it, then we will move on to more challenging material.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:

My ideal student is someone that has a passion for learning guitar and is easy to get along with. They make time to practice and perfect their playing. They are punctual, organized and considerate.
