I am skilled at performance technique, mic technique, guitar, piano, songwriting, singing. I have a background in classical music, bossa nova music, rock, pop, folk, blues, jazz, country.
My Experience: *
I have been teaching singing, piano, and guitar for over 20 years. I love helping my students reach for a goal and achieve it!
My Methods: *
I like to record all lessons so that you can review them all week long. I like to help you reach specific goals in music or performance. Occasionally, I like to have recitals for my students at public locations.
My Teaching Style: *
My teaching style is very much like my personality. I am serious, determined, disciplined and structured. However, I am very friendly, encouraging, patient and like to encourage you through POSITIVE strokes and feedback. I like to inspire and help you to be your most creative self. I like the student to learn by experience. I will write down all of our lesson plans and what you do in every lesson so you can see your progress. I can also record your lesson so that you can have something to hear back during the times you are not with me. I like to have fun as well and encourage you to take big leaps of faith, and try to do things you never thought you would!

I really enjoy taking the time to find out what the student really wants to do musically. While there are standard proceedures for every method, such as music theory basics, I like to let the student find their own voice and what styles they like. Its wonderful when the student starts to understand and realizes, "its not as hard as they thought"! Then the joy of music starts to flourish.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to take the time to see what the student is interested in and go from there. We work on goals together and try to achieve each and every one! I like to make each student very personal, so we will work one on one recording each lesson as well.
