Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Make them comfortable and relaxed. Tell jokes, lighten up and have a good time. Although I am serious about my work, it is easy put too much pressure on a new student and overwhelm them with information. When a student is overwhelmed, it frequently translates into muscle tension which makes motor coordination and dexterity exponentially more dificult.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been trained in all 9 books of the Suzuki Method for the guitar. Although it is a method designed for children, the priciples work well in larger doses for older students and adults.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I base my lesson on $80 per hour. But I also offer a sliding scale for those that request it.
