About this pro

I'm a recent grad of Musician's institute in Hollywood, CA. Ive been playing guitar since age 9 and I'm now 28. I'd like to say that I have a strong work ethic especially  when it comes to music and everything I try to put my mind to.

Im fluent and can teach in the areas of Theory, Harmonization, Aural training, solfege, technique, DAW/recording classes, sheet reading, time/metronome, songwriting, song learning, voice leading, jazz, blues, funk, rock, country, ambient, indie, reggae.

If you love music and haven't seen the progression that you visioned then it's time to stop relying on websites and putting time into your practice and own playing. I can work with younger learners in fact that's the best time to start

you can type in my name Garrett M Nuno into Facebook or find me on IG: the.garrett.nuno

I love creating and teaching music. I'm a firm believer in doing the things I preach. I want to inspire someone to be better and follow that fire inside your heart that's telling you music is the answer

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

The best place to start for every musician  is with a solid foundation in music theory and showing how it relates to your instrument. Also fine tuning a learners ear so they not only know what's happening in the tune but they can internally feel it. Learning staff and then starting with the technique necessary for the style and songs they are interested in.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have an Associates Degree from Musicians institute in Hollywood, CA graduated in June of this year. I'm also a veteran of the United States Army so I know what hard work can do and how it pays off.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I'm open to discussing my rates however I am comfortable and so have my past students being fine with my rate of $30 an hour and however frequent they feel like they want to have lessons.

How did you get started teaching?

After graduating from a music school I felt like I could be a great teacher and help people learn the way they want and tailor a plan for them

What types of students have you worked with?

I've had students from different age groups from young to over 50 years old . I have no issue when it comes to age I believe the mind is the strongest muscle a person possesses and yes they can be an amazing musician with the right education.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

i recently played a show at the observatory with some great friends and I was truly fond of it. I also went to FYF fest in exposition park in general I love music, concerts and festivals and my band is currently on the road to be playing a lot more.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Find someone who not only understands your needs but wants to work with you on teaching you the things that drive you to want to play an instrument.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What music do you listen to?

what songs you want to learn?

how in depth do you want to go?

what musicians inspire you?

what are techniques you'd think you like to learn?
