About
For over 25 years, I’ve been guiding students of all ages through the worlds of music composition, songwriting, and piano performance. My teaching blends a deep respect for tradition with a creative, student-centered approach that encourages discovery, curiosity, and personal expression. Working with me means you’ll get a mentor who listens, inspires, and adapts lessons to fit your goals—whether you’re writing your first song, learning piano fundamentals, or refining advanced compositional techniques.
I studied music composition in USC’s prestigious Advanced Studies Program, where I was mentored by legendary figures such as Jerry Goldsmith, David Raksin, and Alexander Courage. Alongside my academic training, I built a career in film and television production, where I learned firsthand how music can shape stories, elevate emotion, and connect with audiences. This unique background enables me to demonstrate not only how to create music, but also how to think like a composer working in real-world creative settings.
Students often describe my lessons as inspiring, supportive, and fun. My goal is always to help you discover your own voice, while providing you with the tools and confidence to express it clearly. Whether you dream of writing film scores, performing your own songs, or simply enjoying the piano for personal growth, I’ll bring patience, professionalism, and a wealth of experience to help you succeed.
