I am a music teacher who enjoys teaching children through games and fun activities! As a mom, I realize that kids have a diversity of learning styles and they need to switch activities often to stay interested! I try to keep kids engaged and spend a lot of time switching up my teaching techniques to cater to their individual attention spans. I specialize in teaching beginning through early advanced students. My students participate in the Certificate of Merit program.
My Teaching Background
I have been playing the piano since I was eight. I actually taught myself to play in the beginning by reading my father’s music books. My parents eventually gave in and paid for lessons shortly after. Many years of lessons later, I began teaching others to play and love the piano too. I currently study under Los Angeles-based concert pianist Deborah Aitken and San Francisco-based concert pianist Victoria Lington. I am a member of the Music Teachers Association of California. I am also a member of the Bay Area Piano Enthusiasts, and have performed with the Long Beach Amateur Piano Group. My Teaching Philosophy
I believe learning music should be enjoyable and not boring! We have fun in piano lessons, all the while learning good technique. I expect my students to practice consistently so we can focus the lessons on artistry and performance. My students play the great classical composers to learn proper form and technique. Give me a call if you would like to get started!Rates And Availability
