What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We meet for a primary interview where we discuss your goals and needs. We then do a vocal assessment, after which I will suggest a personalize repertoire for study.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been performing and teaching since I was in my teens, and I went on to to I graduate from the Cinciantti Conservatory of Music with a double degree in performance and education. I have since created my own production company and performed all over the world, and have now been teaching and perfomring for over 30 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I do not have a standard pricing system. Since every student is unique, I employ a sliding payment scale.
How did you get started teaching?
I honestly can't remember NOT teaching. It has been a part of my personality for as long as I can remember.
What types of students have you worked with?
I enjoying teaching both professional performers as well as regular people who simply want to be able to sing better.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Last month one of my students played Cinderella in Steven Sondheim's "Into the Woods" on Broadway.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If you don't get results in 6 months, something is not working and you need to find another teacher.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Ask any prospective teachers about their success stories and what they have achieved.
