My family’s experience with Mona Rose studios has been nothing short of amazing. My 10 year old son has been paino taking lesson for over three years and his musical skills and talent continue to grow. My 7 year old daughter has been taking lessons with Mona for about a year and a half. She learned to read music within the first couple weeks and has learned so many new songs. Both of my kids look forward to their weekly lessons as Mona is so personable and friendly with the kids. She knows how to keep them engaged and motivated. Recently, my daughter started taking Vocal Lessons with Ms. Camille through Mona Rose Studios and she has been enjoying that tremendously. My daughter loves to sing, and now I can’t wait to see her vocals develop as much as her piano skills have developed. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our teachers are seasoned professional musicians with extensive experience in performance, touring, competition, and teaching. Armed with the ability to read music, exceptional performance skills, and professional training, we've cultivated a deep understanding of effective teaching methodologies through our own childhood lessons, ensuring an enriching and impactful experience for our students. The owner, Mona, brings a unique perspective to music education, holding a degree in Cognitive Psychology from UC Irvine with a specialized focus on musical psychology research, enriching our teaching approach with a deep understanding of the cognitive and emotional aspects of musical learning.

We offer a transparent and straightforward pricing structure, with lessons charged on a flat-fee basis determined by the duration of weekly sessions and the logistics of whether the student travels to our location or the teacher travels to the student.
How did you get started teaching?
Mona's journey into teaching began at a young age during high school, and her studio naturally expanded throughout her college years. Following a stint in corporate sales post-graduation, Mona realized her true passion lay in nurturing her music studio. With over 15 years of teaching experience, she now leads a team of experts, fostering a unique environment where passionate musicians guide students of all ages in pursuing their musical aspirations, creating a space where dreams are both realized and shared.
What types of students have you worked with?
We embrace students of all ages and levels, recognizing that unique strengths often emerge from cognitive differences, transforming what may be perceived as disabilities into musical gifts that shine in ways distinct from the traditional learning journey.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent event that I am particularly fond of is my enriching experience teaching music in Amsterdam for nearly three years. It was during this time that I realized the profound truth about music being the universal language. Despite linguistic differences, the power of music connected people worldwide, transcending barriers and fostering a deep understanding that resonates beyond words.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
When searching for a music teacher, my advice is to prioritize compatibility over cost. The perfect instructor is not necessarily the most expensive but someone who comprehends your musical goals, aligns with your musical culture, accommodates your schedule, and, crucially, can uncover your hidden talents before you even realize them yourself.

Before talking to teachers about their needs, students should reflect on the duration of their commitment to music. Consider whether this is a short-term or long-term goal, and think about the level of practice dedication.
