What is your typical process for working with a new student?

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
50 years of guitar playing experience. Includes teaching guitar, playing in bands and playing a variety of gigs (weddings, funerals, worship, etc.).
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$30 / 30 minutes, $45 / 45 minutes, $60 / 60 minutes. I'll travel to your place if within a 15 mile range with no extra charge. If I have 5 additional miles there will be an additional $5 charge. I don't want travel past 20 miles.
How did you get started teaching?
People started asking me if I would give them or their kids guitar lessons. After that I advertise once in a while, but mostly it's been by referrals.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've taught adults and teenagers. I've also taught guitar/worship classes at the church I fellowship at.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently I played in a band that played for a Fifth year Wedding anniversary. We played 60's and 70's tunes. It was a lot of fun.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Determine your goals. Do you want to learn to read music? Do you just want to play accompaniment? Do you want to play Lead guitar? Do you want to do it all?
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are their goals? Are they willing to commit to weekly practice?
