MY TEACHING
A dedicated and prolific educator with years of experience teaching music at the college level, I offer private instruction in piano, voice, and music composition/ theory via Zoom. Working with students from beginners with no musical background to industry professionals, I love teaching students of all ages and levels, working equally well with children and adults. My lessons are progressive, structured, and fun, built upon personalized curriculums to to help them grow and develop musically. I provide a supportive and engaging approach towards learning the art and craft of music, inspiring my students with a lifelong love of music.
PIANO LESSONS
I offer piano lessons for students of all ages and levels, from classical to pop to jazz. I studied Piano Performance under distinguished professor Victoria Neve at San Francisco State University, performing two major solo piano recitals. Alongside developing solid piano technique and fostering musicianship, I prioritize the understanding of music theory, helping my students gain fluency in the language of music. For classical piano students, I incorporate the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) exam pieces into my teaching. By working through progressive study of scales, chords, and pieces, my students learn to develop healthy practice habits, leading to mastery of their repertoire. For students learning popular music, I select diverse music that builds a student's technical ability to perform their favorite songs confidently.
VOICE LESSONS
An experienced vocalist and songwriter who has performed classical, musical theatre, jazz, R&B, and pop genres, I have taught voice to students of all ages (children and adults). I give my students a well-rounded training in developing the fundamentals of singing. Students will understand how to improve breath control, practice fun technical exercises to strengthen their voice and expand their range, and improve their intonation and pitch memory. I assign level-appropriate songs to students that help develop their vocal technique and musicality, helping them learn how to get the notes right and improve rhythm. As a vocal coach, I also help students work on stylistic techniques and how to prepare for performances or auditions.
