Hello, I am focused on teaching people who seek long-term quality of life and strive to create or maintain healthy habits, such as exercising effectively and eating well. I offer personalized and adaptable training programs for individuals of all ages and genders. With extensive experience in martial arts, particularly judo, where I represented the Brazilian national team and hold a black belt for 13 years, I transitioned from a professional athlete to a personal trainer. Brian T. says, "I’ve trained with Russ on and off for many years, and he is an amazing instructor. There are many places to train in Orange County, but in my opinion, he is the best coach around. One of the things that is really appealing about Russ’s approach is that while he has competed successfully in wrestling, sports jiu-jitsu and MMA, he teaches a style of grappling that is designed for self-defense. And although he has been an athlete all his life, he has embraced the best aspects of the martial arts, with the benefits of discipline, respect and loyalty. All kinds of people train with Russ, including women, kids, and older people, and you can always the know the character of the instructor by the quality of people that he attracts to the school. I highly recommend his school for anyone. " Read more

How much are boxing classes?

  • Wraps or gauze: $5 to $20

What are the weight classes in boxing?

The lightest class is called Strawweight and is for people that weigh 105 to 107 pounds. The largest is Heavyweight and is for people over 200 pounds.

Are boxing classes worth it?

Boxing classes are worth it if you're looking for a good whole-body workout or want to learn self-defense. Boxing is easier to learn and inexpensive compared to many gym memberships or martial arts classes.

Boxing is not only a good cardio workout, it also works out the arms, legs, and core. This fighting style also releases tension in a safe environment while helping you reach fitness goals.

How many boxing classes should I attend per week?

Most people attend boxing classes 1 to 3 times per week, though this depends on your budget and schedule. For the best results, consider exercising at the gym or at home in between classes to build strength and endurance.

What should I wear to a boxing class?

Wear comfortable, lightweight clothing and shoes to a boxing class. Most people wear shorts and a T-shirt or tank top. Remember to bring a water bottle and small towel to hydrate and remove sweat during the workout.

  • Get 3+ free estimates to compare.
  • Read their reviews on Lessons and Google.
  • Choose a gym that is licensed and experienced.
  • Get a written estimate and schedule before the classes begin.
  • Follow a payment schedule instead of making large payments up front.

After asking questions and verifying credentials, hire the best boxing instructor in your area.

What questions should I ask boxing instructors?

When looking for local boxing classes, ask these questions:

  • How long have you been teaching boxing classes?
  • Are you licensed and insured?
  • How many students do you have?
  • Are you experienced teaching beginners?
  • Do you have any current openings?
  • Are there any other people in my weight class here?
  • How often would you recommend meeting based on my experience level?
  • Can I have an estimate or contract in writing?

I’m beyond stoked on Quacy! He’s been training me for the past 3 months and IVE NEVER FELT THIS GOOD BEFORE! Not only is my physical game on point but Quacy is so motivating and inspiring that my mental game is on point to! His knowledge of the body and movements is keys. I have muscles in places I didn’t even know existed! He’s super committed and consistent that I now wake up before my 6am gym alarm goes off.. and I’m not a morning person so there’s a lot of stoke there! 10/10 would 1000 percent recommend! Wanna get strong, feel good and have support.. Quacy Jordan is your man! Thank you thank you thank you Q!

I've been training in Jiu Jitsu for 18 years and I've been Russ Miura's student for over 10. Submissions are like Destinations on a map, and there are many Destinations on maps. Instructors are like maps. Maps have a lot of Information. It's up to you to figure out the best route for your specific Destination. Russ Miura is like GPS, he will show you the best route for you to reach all of your Destinations. If you're curious, please come in flr a free class, tell them you saw Pandas Post.

Love everything about Storm! I train powerlifting with a trainer and take kickboxing classes with the coaches. They are all awesome! The owner really has high standards and it shows throughout the gym. It is CLEAN, beautiful and has the BEST equipment! My 8 year old also trains jujitsu on the kids team. They really work hard at having well rounded athletes. He has really blossomed during speed and agility classes.

This is truly a life enhancing experience. I walked in as a curious 29 year old not knowing much about martial arts, and not the most confident about my abilities to protect myself and family from extreme circumstances. Regardless of if a threat was ever going to happen; I felt that I needed to be ready for it. Master Mike has been key to my learning and development. His ability to teach and transfer his knowledge surpasses many of the coaches I have had during my professional basketball career. My only regret is that I didn’t join earlier in my life. I walk in dark alleys confident that I’m ready for anything. When people walk behind me, I’m prepared for anything. And this allows me to be calmer and more grounded. No wild thoughts enter my head. No impractical worries take space in the sanctuary of my mind. I’m in the warmth and solace of my abilities and find calmness and confidence because of all my lessons in martial arts. I recommend this to any and everyone.
